I think that people who are interested in snakes get enough love and interaction from their snakes, although it isn't the same type of interaction that you'd get from a dog or a cat.

What do you think?

Snakes do offer easy maintenance than to birds, dogs, cats and many others.

The question is do you get wnough love and interaction from your pet. To your happiness, cheers.

Hi Petsnakes! Welcome, and congratulations to be brave enough to be the first commenter.

I didn't mean to give the impression that we ignored our snakes most of the time.

We do check on all of our pets several times a day (in the case of the baby fish it seems like a million times a day :-) ), and I think it is important to do with any pet.

However, you don't have to feed the snakes every day, or let them in and out of the house several times a day, and since they normally only use the "bathroom" once a month or so you only have to clean their messes up once a month, as opposed to cleaning cages every day with pocket pets, or cleaning litterboxes frequently if you have cats.

They require a lot less maintanence than any other pet I've ever had.

I do think it's important to pay attention to all of your pets daily, but it is nice to be able to go on vacation without spending half the time worried that people aren't taking care of your pets, because they don't know how to, or because they are scared of the pets - or the pet food when you're dealing with crickets.

As long as everything is status quo they are "easy" enough, but the moment something goes wrong they're a pain in the butt!

Personally I prefer to treat my snakes like I would a dog or cat and give them attention everyday be it handling or just checking up on them. It is nice that in an emergency I can take off for a few days with no worry if necessary however.
